Cat's Away, Sale-ing, P.O., Catch some Z's

My husband is in Wisconsin for the week on business. He'll be home Saturday. He left very early yesterday morning and I miss him already. Even got a little choked up watching him walk to his truck. I'll be glad when he gets home.

I've gotten some great deals shopping lately. Two lovely blouses on sale for about $11 each ($10.60 for one of them), a black skirt on sale for $5.99 (could not believe it when the sales lady told me that total!), great black heels (open-toed, t-strap, ankle-strap) on sale for $24.99. I wore the outfit (new black skirt, one of the blouses - white w/black flowers, new black heels) to church on Sunday (carried a bright pink purse with it) and it just looked so great together. :-)

Need to try to run to the post office today to get a package sent to CO for an online acquaintance. I recorded a preaching tape for him. Can't wait for him to hear it. I still need to record the other two for him.

My daughter's Arwen action figure should get here today or tomorrow. She's been checking the mailbox for the past few days. She can't wait to get it. :-)

Hmm. Well, after sleeping a short while and then getting online, I'm feeling tired again and can't really think anymore. Must go get a few more hours of sleep.

Slow poopin' dog, Auction winner

Temps have cooled down (it was only in the 70s on Saturday and around 80° on Sunday) lately. It should be in the low to mid 80s today. What a relief. Standing in the scorching sun waitin' for my puppy to do his business is unpleasant to say the least. It wouldn't be so bad if he'd get it done quickly, but he likes to stand in the grass sniffing the air, sniffing the ground, pick up leaves and twigs in his mouth. I keep saying, "Go pee-pee cah-cah!" and he just stays in his own happy little puppy world. "Come on, dog. I'm cookin' out here." After awhile, he finally does his business and we can go back inside for relief of another kind. It won't be as unpleasant now that temps have cooled down some.

Won an auction for my daughter (an Arwen action figure) and must purchase a money order (don't trust PayPal) and get it sent today. It's coming from Washington. Don't know how long it'll take to get here.

Got my eye on several other auctions. More LOTR action figures (for my son) and a couple clothing items for myself.

Well, I may go watch a movie now or something.

Hot NC Days and Goodwill Donations

It's been ridiculously hot. 103° in the shade today. Crazy. Right now at nearly 1 AM, it's still almost 90°. NC can get pretty hot in the Summer, but temps around 100° is uncommon here. It's supposed to be just as hot tomorrow. You literally feel like your skin is cooking when you walk out into the sun at those temps. So the AC is running its guts out and I'm staying inside like any sane person would.

It's supposed to "cool down" into the mid 80s in a few days. lol Funny that we would think of the mid 80s as a cool down. :-
I did take a few pictures around the house outside, but nothing terribly interesting. I still need to upload them.

I put some of my purses into one of the Goodwill bags I've got going. I also need to pack up some of the kids' toys for Goodwill that they don't really play with anymore. I'll get all that to Goodwill eventually. I've brought a lot of stuff there in the last few months. Clothes and toys mostly. A few knicknacks and shoes that are in like-new condition.

So, reckon that's it for now. If any of the pictures I took turned out okay, I might post them here.

Too Early to Think of Titles

Maybe I'll treat this as sort of a journal. Still trying to decide on that. Though obviously I won't post anything too personal.

Made some cookies for the church bake sale, but thanks to a migraine (including ever-so-pleasant nausea) that is thankfully finally gone, I won't be able to make it to church this morning. I was really looking forward to going, too. :-\ Oh, well. I should make it tonight.

Did some browsing online of some of my favorite stores. I think I'm going to have to go to Old Navy (cute shoes on sale for $6.99) and Target (saw a cute shirt I'd like to get) sometime this week. Perhaps Monday. We'll see.

Still haven't gone on that little "photographic journey", but I still want to. Hopefully this week. It's just been so darned hot.

Well, gotta go individually wrap the cookies in plastic wrap and have either my husband or my mom bring them to the church for me.

A Photographic Journey

I'm a member of a photography/picture-sharing community. (Flickr) There are hundreds of thousands of pictures there. I will never see them all. But I have seen a lot of beautiful pictures there. It's made me want to take pictures more often than I do. That and the fact that when I tried to find pictures online of the area of NC I live in, it was slim pickin's to say the least.

I'd like to take my digital camera and take pictures of different areas of my city and the countryside near where I live. Upload them and get them on the internet. There just aren't enough by a long shot. There's a lot of beauty in the area I live in and plenty of interesting things to take pictures of. But you will find many more pictures of the mountains and the coast of NC than you will of central NC.

Anyway, I'm not a pro by any means, but I do enjoy taking pictures. And it's like a mission. I have to get good photographic representation of my area online so that hopefully others will see and so that I will have some pictures to choose from to share with friends or post at forums and on my website. I may do that tomorrow or Friday. We'll see.

Ah, there it is!

Okay, I can see my blog now. :-\ Bear with me as I learn. I'm new at this.
I'm new at this blogging thing. Tried viewing my blog and got one of those annoying 404 error messages. Does this mean the blog I just created has a glitch? Or do I have to type out a post first in order for it to appear?

Here goes nothin'....
